i owned a B5 before and that thing was in the shop so much everyone their knows my name (kind of like Norm). when i got the B6 over a year ago, i went to the service dept. a couple of times just for maintanance and purchaces of mods. this thing is just an all around good vehicle. the only problem is now i think i want a B6 S4. i love it that much that i can't see myself getting into anything else. am i crazy for this?

but a lot of parts been replaced on the car due to cracks, tears, and failures.. they just don't make the parts to last long..except maybe the engine and trans.

Sorry to highjack the thread. I saw you had a prob with your headlights a while back and wondering what you ended up doing.
Thanks.
Thanks.

as a daily driver/commuter. I really love the look of the B6/7 avant.
I have a B5 S4 and I there is no way in hell I would have a B6 over the B5 in the S4. In the A4 I definitely prefer the B6/7.
The B5 S4 has some issues and if you can't or don't work on your own stuff it can get a little (a lot) spendy. But... Just a chiped B5 S4 will beat a B6 and with K04's or better and it's like clubbing a baby seal.
I know that the B6 chasis is better out of the box and I do really like the body style so I guess it depends one what you want. If you like to mod- B5 hands down. I dyno'd on 93 pump recently with cats, and full exhaust and put down 440 WHP. A B6 did somewhere in the 255-265 WHP on the same day.
If you want a quick car that with a great chasis, better interior, (and maybe even a warranty), nice exhaust note, and a little less ability to mod (if you have the addition that I am sure many of you do) the B6/7 is the way to go.
Lastly- I get 25-26 or better MPG when I am crusing down the freeway where as a friend of mine with B7 get 15-16 in the same conditions. My average with 50/50 city/highway is always 20-21.
