than a B6 does. Stock for stock the B6/7 wins
Stage 3 can be anywhere from 450 HP/480TQ (Crank) (mild) to well into the 650-700 and even more. GT turbo'd cars are putting down over 600 HP at the wheels. I put down 420-440 WHP on pump gas with cats, exhaust just as I drive it on the street.
I really do like the B6/7 S4 and RS4's. I am not slamming them at all, but the B5 has much more tuning potential. If you don't want to mod, the b6/7 is a better choice.
I have run against both the V8 S4's and new RS4's and there is no comparison in HP or Torque- but the RS4 is very quick. A decent Stage 3 B5 will pull many cars lengths on the S4 and will pull on on an RS4.
Fit and finish, stock suspension and chasis, and looks (IMO) favor the B6/7.
