Default I need a D1S replacement and your advice....

I have a burnt out drivers side headlight and I would like to go aftermarket. I have read about a couple different temperature bulbs and would like a very nice blue yet bright headlight.

From your guys experiences which headlights would you recommend?

Second where do you recommend I buy them from?

Thanks
Brian

Default Phillips makes a 6000K D1S, intended to color match a used lamp....more

Osram also has a 5400K D1S available. In both of these, the higher kelvin color temps have less lumens flux output, somthing like 2800 lumens as compared to 3100-3200 lumens for the OEM 4100K lamp. ProtocolID on AZ had the Osrams for $300.00 for a pair awile ago. Also try oemhid.com.

Default You can upgrade to an Osram 5400k D1S

www.suvlights.com recently dropped their prices $50 to $125 per bulb.

www.oemhid.com sells them for the same price and is a verified seller on AZ and AW.

4300k and 5400k (sometimes marketed as 6000k) are the only colour temps made by manufacturers.

Any higher colour temp is a fake, painted or modified bulb

Default why do you want to have less light output? It seems the audi oem (usa) hid's aren't the best..

seriously it seems like (aimed) the 330ci xenons kicked about 20% more light output where you needed it. I aimed both cars at once to make sure they were equal at two distance points. less lumens would seem downright dangerous?
