does not lock because since the driver door trigger is not working either, the car thinks the door is still open so it does not lock it. Could it have been from controls getting wet from the disgusting amount of snow we got today? I only had the door open for a few seconds, what could it be?

I hope that you can still use key to lock car even w/dead drivers side door locks.

Yeah, car still locks manually but the door is definitely dead.

this happened to my old 01 gti,hopefully this is not your case but if so heads up!i had to pay $700 out of pocket because my aftermarket radio f*cked up all my controls.don't know if you know of the k-wire or not?if you bring to dealer try to get back to stock radio as i see you have a dvd? just a heads up!!

No, I have the stock system, my dvd is in my glove box, passenger side works fine.
