I need a serious technical source/advice on the pros/cons of slotted vs. cross-drilled rotors.

There is so much brand/tuner loyalty, that real information and experimentation is limited.
Here is one of the MANY <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/524793.phtml">posts</a>.
Performance differences between drilled and slotted are usually minimal. It comes down to it's intended purpose and how you use them.

If you're going with cross-drilled, you need to make sure they are forged that way and not simply normal rotors that are later drilled out. I don't fully understand the metalurgy behind it, but basically when they drill out normal rotors it weakens them tremendously. The purpose of the holes is to aid in cooling and prevent fade under braking, but they don't do you much good when they are broken.

or does it just help brakes maintain preformance (anti-fade) under hard conditions?
How does a big brake upgrade affect the ABS? Does it adjust to whatever the systems inputs are regardless of rotor size and calipers?
Thanks

Had to get that off my mind. Drilling does promote small cracks under EXTREME conditons. Rotors that are abused to that degree are damaged anyway! Next time, I will be getting X-drilled Zimmermans, I have ATE Powerstops now. A slotted rotor is good for wet braking but it will chew up pads and might warp easily. The effect of the slotting is reduced over time, like a tire tread wearing down.
