I asked the salesman what kind of loaner cars they give when I bring my car in for service. The salesman then asked, "Loaner car??" as if to say he didn't know what I was talking about. Then he promptly said, "we don't give loaner cars." I was very surprised to hear this since I've been reading on this forum about how people get loaner cars from the dealership when they take the cars in for service. I told him that every Audi dealership gives loaner cars. I am not an Audi owner yet, but that was the impression that I got from this forum. Am I wrong or is Downtown LA Audi short-changing their customers?? Does anyone have any experience dealing with Downtown LA Audi's service department?

But as more and more dealerships offer loaners, the ones that don't become less competitive among their peers.

purchased their car there. One just sold it's Audis to the local Enterprise. Another charged me $30 for a B5 A4--I hadn't bought my car there but they have a good service reputation. My impression is that it's an expensive pain for them to maintain a fleet of loaners but most do it because it helps sell cars. check out some other LA dealerships. I miss my TT when it's in the shop but the pain is eased by an A6 or Allroad loaner.

Dealers aren't reimbursed by AoA for same day loaners and regular scheduled maint. They do get $25 a day from AoA for repairs that require an overnight stay. That can applied to same brand loaners or rental cars - up to dealer.

and crappy dealer sells the most cars. Dealer is there to sell cars. If cutting corners to offer the lowest price works, they'll do it. Think about the message you are sending.
