I read this to mean......
It will be sold as an option on all new Audis?
This came to me as part of an email advert for the Q7. If thats the case, I have to pay for scheduled maintenance, I WILL be shopping around come the fall.
"If you count yourself among the first thousand people to call the all-new 2007 Audi Q7 4.2 your own, you can count on four years of regularly scheduled maintenance visits being covered because the Audi Care new vehicle maintenance package -- a retail value of $550 -- will be on us. Audi Care covers regularly scheduled maintenance appointments at 15K, 25K, 35K and 45K service intervals, or four years, whichever comes first. In order to qualify for this special offer, the first thing you need to do is -- hurry. You'll need to be one of the first 1,000 to order your Audi Q7 4.2 before May 15th and take delivery before December 31st, 2006. Find out more about this offer, Audi Care, and, of course, this groundbreaking vehicle, at your Audi dealer."

its really sad...
that they are advertising the audi care program to a "lucky" few who buy 1 of the first 1,000
this is audi moving backward, not forward... they should not be dropping the audi advantage, it should continue to be 4 years / 50k on all of the cars (aside from maybe the a3)

well I'd be more annoyed if it was just Audi but most of the other premium brands are doing the same
But I disagree on the A3 - especially for those that pick up the 3.2 Quattro DSG. At almost $40K msrp (for the 3.2 Q DSG model) they should be given the same treatment.
If Audi included the A3 owners (theorectically), then they may be more inclined to purchase another A3 or move up to A4/A6, etc if they like the free scheduled maintenance. But since they seem to be eliminating that offer for the majority of us guess its all moot.
I already hate it when I take my car to the dealer and I can't get a loaner because I didn't buy my car from them...so excluding all but the "first 1,000" owners of the new Q7 and possibly future models is frustrating as well.

meh, not a terrible deal, imho
but then again i haven't understood why everyone has gotten their panties in a bunch about the maintenance issue. it's not like they cut the warranty in half.
