I went to a dealer to see if I can have a test drive on a 3.0 CVT but they did not have it in stock so I drove the 1.8t CVT and 1.8t FWD stick and they were very very slow. I found myself constantly close to flooring the car to get it to move a little. I test drove a 1.8t CVT before, it seemed faster than the one I drove yesterday. It was 95 degrees with AC on, could it make that much difference?

If you are not going to be comfortable driving the 1.8T hard (it's OK - it was designed for this!) then you are going to have to get the 3.0. I just came from a Passat V6 and am still kind of getting used to running the 1.8T at higher revs to get the performance that I expect. But it is fun. And I really like the sounds the little motor makes. Even if you get a chip, you are not going to have the low-end torque of a larger displacement engine.

Flintstones it with some bare feet.
The car wouldn't get going, and even the turbo rush at 4k was substantially dulled.
Yes, it is a 1.8T.
