If it was a problem with key matching...the car would never start, correct?

i still dont get it???? i have same probem to two audis, had new kes cut,,,, didnt fix anything, the yellow like with car and key in it will flash and thats when the car will not start, i must fix the one car i sold, i was goin to change the coil tomorrow for one i salvaged out of a A4 im wreckin, but everyones tellin me i have to take it to audi to be reprogramed then,,, and audi townville australia is the biggest rip off on earth,,,, radio code in sydney is 55 bucks, in townsvlle its $175 a hr and they claim it take maybe 2 hrs,,,,,,,, they use no vaseline when shaftin you,,,,,
