Default well, so that's a much smaller sidewall, resulting in much quicker steering response....

BTW, the OEM SP9090 have been chosen as a middle ground between performance and comfort. Not all customers appreciate a bone-jarring ride of max. perf. tires, only the true sports enthusiasts like us, hanging around on AudiWorld :-)

But even if you replace them with something else, you are not going to get the same quick steering response as with 205/40/17 tires.

I own and race cars plus I am an race instructor. I really dont get what you are saying. I think that the sport susp. is great with the Michelin tires. I have had mine on the track many of times and I am amazed at the handeling compaired with my porsche 996 gt3 race car. Something must be wrong with tire pressure

Default the smaller tires and much less weighty car add to the...

"illusion" of a better handeleing car, i promise you if you push you A4 to the edge it will not dissapointe. You have quattro? that makes the high speed corneres even better...i know the del sol will give you that "go cart" feeling, but trust me the A4 sport aint to shabby, it just has a significaint ammount of weight to carry.

I will say that the BMW 3 series sport susp. is alittle better IMO. For the street it is a nice car. No it is not a Porsche but it cost have the $$.

What are you wanting the car to do? I think I am lost now.

dont get me wrong, the quattro does seem to stick to the road, but i just want quicker steering response, less body roll, and less tire screeching, racier feel i guess

Default Re: Me too or is it something else?

Hmmmm. I just got my A4 (with Sport Package...) on Monday and I've been noticing the ride is, how do I say this, little bumpy and jiggly than I'd like it to be. Sorry, for the poor description...I'm just a girl... Anyhow, I seem to be feeling every bump and dip. (Don't recall this happening in the one that I test drove with Sport Package...)

Is it the tires, the suspension, or my particular car? How can I improve ride quality? I like the handling around corners, but the bumpy/springy ride is just not for me. Help!

check the tire pressure (when cold), and decrease it if necessary.
