Default I would have never thought that the gas mileage would be this good

when you don't run the AC and don't hit the gas that much.

I've been doing a lot of driving on PCH between Camarillo and Santa Monica and lately I've been averaging around 36-37mpg for the trip.

Do others get this kind of mileage if you baby the gas?

Default My mileage is horrible ... need some opinions

I've got an '05 3.0Q with a stick. I just used my first full tank of gas since getting my car back from the body shop, and I only got 240 miles out of it. Granted, I probably could have eeked out a few more miles as the gas warning just came on. Also, when I fill it up, I stop filling the first time the pump clicks off, as opposed to continuing to pump until it clicks several times like I've done in previous cars. Still, isn't 240 miles pretty low? I've only got 3,100 miles on the car -- does it get better? I would say that my travels are 50% highway, 50% city and, no, I don't drive 55 (do any of us?). I'm curious as to whether this is normal or if I should be concerned.

Default Re: My mileage is horrible ... need some opinions

I could only assume that sounds like low mileage even for the 3.0 Given you use 15 gallons of gas that averages around 16 miles/gallon which would be bad even if you did a lot of city or freeway stop and go driving. Since I don't have the 3.0 I couldn't give you any averages.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Default I also have a 3.0 with 6MT and average about 19mpg,

same type of driving, about 50/50. Mine has been consistent since day one, maybe a small difference as the car broke in. You should try pumping a little more gas in, you may have hit an air pocket and not completely filled. I don't keep clicking either ( hate when it spills) but a little more may make a difference for you.

Default Wow I'm kinda glad I went with the 1.8t now....

Even though having a more even power curve and the sound of a v6 engine would be nice.
