got a cel on an 04 1.8 a4 for intake air temperature high output. what could be causing this?

before anything, i would remove the IAT sensor (it is attached to your intake manifold right behind the throttle body and attached with only 1, 8mm allen bolt) and clean it with contact cleaner, also clean the connections, let it dry, then reassemble. clear your code, start the car, and see if the code comes back.
