Idle Question
#3
Mine idles at 750...it feels rougher than it should be because it is a ****ty design
not because of low rpms. A six could idle at 600 rpm if it was a straight or flat configuration. My Honda minivan V6 idles at 800 quite smoothly.
Audi uses a 90 degree V, which sucks, and obviously despite using counter rotating balance shafts, etc., they didn't do enough to make this engine anything close to as smooth as its competition's six cylinders.

my 3.0 tip idles at 800 in drive. it is perfectly smooth, never had any engine idle this nice. same in park, and smooth over the entire range. your car might need adjusting. joe v

Possibly, but what are you comparing to?
If you've only had 4's or 5's it may seem nice. It is very rough compared to all 60 degree Jap V6's, any flat 6's and all straight 6's. And I have driven 5 3.0's to compare and all are about the same as mine...****ty.
