If I get new front brake pads w/o the sensor, do I need to do anything with the unused connector?

I assume that the sensor in the pad is nothing more than a continuity check (i.e. when the pad wears down the contacts touch the rotor which completes the circuit and turns on the low brake pad warning). By leaving the connector unplugged it shouldn't do anything - right?

I suppose I can just as easily cut the sensor wires off the old pads and splice those together. That way I've not damaged the cars' wiring harness. Thanks for the info!

which in turn closed the connection so I wouldn't have any warning lights....I don't need sensors since I check the brake pads constantly.
