friend picked up an audi and it looked clean and drives clean. can't really tell there was a hit but after thorough inspection, it looks like there's a slight curve on the radiator/front end. no body damage. anyway, it looked like a patch job that wasnt done so well--service rep told us this after a thorough inspection.
carfax didn't show anything and the seller didn't mention it or denied it after asking if it was hit.
what are our options. can they stop the check? to be honest, the hit isn't that huge or noticable. car runs fine and no leaks but it's just hte principle of it.

Your friend will be probably out of luck, the time to get a full inspection is before buying the car...
If she already has the car paid for, then I guess she can take some comfort that the damage is not so bad...
Another question I would ask was the previous owner the first one, the damage may well have been done before he/she had the car.
Also Carfax is not something one should depend on, it may be only good for "reported" accidents, everything else that happens can only be checked out with a full car inspection...
Good luck, and I hope that your friend has a safe and reliable ride...

appearance looked clean. carfax didn't state anything, and yes 1 owner--well 2 im guessing. it said a dealer bought it from an auction and the person who sold it said it was a present from his dad for his wedding.
car is pretty much paid for since a check was cut. read up on stuff that said in california, the buyer has 2 days to return the car if there are issues but 1) car has to be under $40K, 2) dealer can charge $250 in fees 3) dealer can charge restocking fee no more than $500, and car can't have been driven over 250 miles. welp, drive from la to sf is more than 250.
guess she's just mad that the seller didn't let her know. not much else she can do i guess. i looked at it and i could swear it looked like the car just slightly tapped some imovable object but i assumed it was tyring to park and just tapped something. nothing really major wrong with it. checkup said it's kool and no leaks after driving it from la to sf. guess she's lucky. 2005 a4 with roughly 15k miles for $15k. inside is clean as hell. could have sworn it was brand new.
car got it's 15k service from a dealer in the south, my service advisor walked us through what was done too and it was just a regular 15k.
thanks all
