And a ET39 offset? I would think a ET35-ET32 would be more in line given the width. What is your lip width on those? I'm looking at 19x8.5 ET 31 (2.5" lip) for 540R. I was also considering 19x9 (for more lip), or even 20x9 (since Sportec has done this).

the measurements were done by Bob Hale @ HRE and we could have gone 8, 8.5 or 9. I wanted to take it as far as we could wihtout extending outside the fender. There is no rubbing (I have had 5 adults in my car and still no problem) and the tires sit right at the edge of the fenders. We also did that offset so that I can put big brakes in later.

It really depends your budget. I was welling to spend only $2000 for wheels & tires, but it turned out that I spent over $4K for them. HRE's are nicely made, and they are lighter & stronger than the most wheels on the market. You won't regret. You just need to see them in person.

I'm getting 19x8.5 ET31 with 2.5" lips (2" visible).
How can you have ET39 and have BB clearance? HRE kept changing mine too; staggered at first (2.5" & 2" lips) w/ ET34, then all the same size w/ ET33, then ET31 after I contacted them... Personally, I just felt that with a 19x8.5, that a ET32 would be fine- even for BBK's. I see many that use a ET35 even (Sportec's 20x9's) and they clear BBK's. I guess this offset and wheel size thing really confuses me. I thought I understood it somewhat. But then I see a wheel like Movens GT2 which in a 19x8.5 set up has a 38mm offset. That doesn't seem like a whole lot for BBK clearance.

but some HRE's. I just wanted some nice durable rims for my A4, but now I am beggining to think that I'll save my money and pass. To many issues with rims and tires.
