Well i read somewhere that for our understeering Audi's its better to put wider tires in the front to reduce understeer. But i personally really like the wide tires look in the back...

Any opinions?

TIA

Default Absolutely on FWD cars. Pontiac is doing this OEM on a new application...

to try and eliminate torque steer and provide better handling as the FWD cars are using the front tires for both acceleration and turning forces. I'd do this if in a FWD Audi. I wouldnt if in a quattro. cheers! Mike

Default if it's a quattro, you wouldn't want to do that becasue they would be diff. diameter. >

there are no 225&235 width tires that are the same diameter.
unless one is 17" and one is 18" you're going to have problems.
just get 2 more matching tires and have 4 of the same.
what you asked is not a good idea.

It's probably a good thing you didn't ask this on the Chicago forum.

Default I really can't believe that I am reading this question....

the 225s go in front and the 235s in the rear. Very simple, since you are not racing and not tracking the car, the wider ones go in the rear....

Default It's a quattro Chris. He has the wrong tires. If it was a FWD i'd put the wider...

ones up front similar to how we would put the wider ones on the rear of some RWD cars. Out of curiousity why would you put them in the rear? cheers! Mike
