Default ignition coil packs

After reading the current issue of Consumer Reports which quotes AoA that Audi will replace all coil packs even w/ no failure, I called AoA today. They confirmed that I should call the dealer and schedule a visit to have them replaced. The AoA rep indicated that a direct mail would be sent starting today to let people know they can replace coil packs. It may be phased in over several months though.

I called my dealership and have an appointment to have them replaced. Has anyone else had them replaced w/o a failure?

Default Page 11. By the way, I just spoke with my dealer...

...I told the service advisor that I owned an '02 A4 and would like to schedule an appt to have my coilpacks replaced. He asked if I had received a letter from AoA. I said "no, but I noticed in my latest issue of Consumer Reports..etc..etc..."

The service advisor then said "how does next Tuesday work? Should be able to change the coilpacks while you wait"

So there you have it. Call your Audi service dept and set up a time to replace those coilpacks!
And reference CR if they seem to be giving you the run around.

By the way, I have not had any of my 'packs fail as of yet, and my build date was Feb '02.
