Fyi...My vehicle (2005 A4 Cabriolet) would not start. I ran the code reader and got P0688 (ECM). I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. Turns out there is a recall on the ignition coils. They replaced all 6 ignition coils for free.

This is the long-running and widespread coilpack issue. They are called coilpacks on here. Do a search and you will find dozens of posts. There has been a recall out for some time. Got mine done under the recall too.

I like how Audi let's it get to the point where your car dies before they do anything. I called the service department and mention I was getting misfires and they didn't say a damn thing about a recall. Then two days later the car won't start.
