Default Ignition coils...dealer lied?

You may have seen my earlier post about the suspected ignition coil failure (last week) which turned out to be a "measuring block" problem. Well since I had other pending services going on, I never got the final service invoice last week. Got it today when I picked the car BACK up after its passenger seat was fixed (whole separate issue) and I looked through the service invoice. I asked last week whether the problem was an ignition coil. I was specifically told "no". And yet, lo and behold, on my service invoice reads as follows: " 1 5052 Test trace chanel to bad ignition coil and plug for #1 cyl; lender replaced coil and plug reset readiness code test drove to verify repair". Was my dealer confused? Was he lying? All very interesting. At least it's fixed I guess.

Fixed yes...but what version of coil did they replace it with? That is the question? H or J?

Default ??

I don't know what the H or J coil is. It doesn't seem to specify. Maybe I'll call them.

Default Nevermind I see it..."J-Coil"

What does that mean though?

It would be listed at the end of the part number for the coil - not sure if that appears on invoices

Default Hi Quattro Formaggio ... Let's assume the invoice is correct. Please fill out our coil pack ques-

Nah, he just gave the quick diagnosis. It's the tech who finds, replaces, and reports it.

Default That's the revision level for the part.

People here are trying to figure out which revision level is the latest and greatest design. Some people have had "h" parts installed into their cars and some have had "j" parts installed into their cars.
