Default Ignition control unit replacement successful... but now new idle droop...

Thanks to Audiworld I managed to diagnose and fix a very poor idle and power problem along with a blinking CEL. I installed the aftermarket Huco unit and saved about $300 relative to what the dealer would have done. That's the good news.

However, immediately after replacing the bad ignition control unit, I've noticed an 'rpm droop' as I stop after shifting to neutral. The rpm will dip to about 600, shaking the car just slightly, and then level out at the normal 800 or so. Once stabalized, it idles and runs fine.

Any idea with this is just a coincidence? Could the Huco unit do this? What is the fix for this? (I think I've heard this issue with A4s before).

Thanks in advance.

Default I know you can adjust the idle with VAG-COM, but I wonder if the ECU needs to learn

now that you've replaced the ignition control unit? Maybe give it some time to adjust and if it doesn't then I'd resort to the Vag-com tweak.

BTW, this is the B6 forum.
