Default Partially wrong! 91 reccommended, 87 minimum

FYI
1) All cars can run 87 (by law)
2) If Audi reccomends 91, then that is what will get you rated power.(170 hp) If you were to run 87, you will get a lower hp (lets say 160 for example)

The inside gas flap on mine states that a minimum 91 octane is required.

You can use 87, but it's a false savings.

What are you referring to? If its fuel economy, there is no difference.

Default That has not been my experience.

But I agree that 87 can be used, it's just not recommended.

Default I bet you get better MPG with the reccomnded 91....

its just inportant to know that if you need to put 87 in for whatever reason, rest assured that you will not break anything.

Manual does state that anything below 87 may cause engine damage.

Default you can run 87, but the car has to retard the timing and adjust for it.

I personally have never sunk below 91
