Default I'm finally thinking about upgrading the sound in my car. Suggestions?

Current amps:

Sub amp - Arc Audio 1500DR: 900wrms x 1 @ 4 ohms
Component amp - Arc Audio 4050CXL: 180wrms x 2 @ 4 ohms

Going with a simple setup of 6.5" components up front and subs in the back. No rear speakers.

Should I go with a single 10" or 12" sub? Maybe it's better to go with two subs? 10" or 12"? I remember hearing that 12" subs complement 6.5" speakers better than 10" subs.

I'm looking at Image Dynamics IDQ woofers.

Front speaker suggestions? I ran Focals in my previous car and I loved them, but I'm not up-to-date on the current speaker choices. I obviously need something that will be able to handle 100-150wrms.

TIA

Default After 20+ years of installing "custom" audio systems in my cars...

I decided to not touch the OEM system in my 2004 B6.

Why?

Me thinks it sounds pretty dam good! ;o)

Default I am deciding between IDQ, MB, Alpine S series and infiniti perfects

probably whichever is cheapest

I have 10" subs and they sound good, works better in small volume stealth boxes.

Just take out the resonator and listen to beautiful music. BTW, there's a bug crawling in your sig.

Default I get those perfects for dirt cheap, and to be honest....

I'm not a fan of them

Default Those arc amps are great

The IDQ woofers are considered the best sounding woofers in many circles. Good choice.

I'd recommend heading out and picking up a copy of September's Car Audio and Electronics magazine.

They did a review of some extremely great speakers. The guy doing the review is a sales rep for Morel speakers in the southern states. He's a great audiophile. He gave the Hertz MLK165 a better score than his own Morel speakers at $1200 more. I know what speakers I'm buying
