Default Im not getting a strong startup, what can it be

When I try to strart my car its not starting strong. It sometime doesnt start on the first turn. Sometime I may need to assist it by hitting the gas to make sure it doesnt turn off. This isnt every startup. It does wether it when cold or warm. What can it be?

Default i had that problem before...

is your car a CVT? I'm not sure if this was a bulletin just for CVT transmissions or if its for all auto transmissions or all A4s but there was a bulletin dealing with this issue. It calls for a throttle body cleaning and re-adaptation. Instead of paying tons of money to go to the dealer, I did it myself. You just remove and clean the throttle body (i used carb cleaner).. put it back on. Then do the throttle body adaptation. I think the local audi dealer wanted to charge me like $60 for the TBA (that doesn't include cleaning it). To find out how to do the TBA yourself just do a forum search for TBA or throttle body adaptation. I'm sure you'll find it.

Default I had same problem. It was immobolizer.

My symptoms were, regardless of if it's hot or cold.

Car cranks, but turns off right-away, even if I press on gas to rev.
Maybe on 3rd or 4th try, it will hold at idle.
Dealer had to order new unit which would take 2 weeks to come so this is what I did and it helped alot.

From RadioShak, I got a spray (Electronic component cleaner) and sprayed a little into the key-hole. Make sure to let it dry. Do this couple of times.

I also cleaned my throttle body inside with carb cleaner spray. It was amazing how much tar was build-up in there.
