I wrap my filters in pantyhose. Catches crap and keeps oil mist off the MAF. Easier to clean later.

Default I run K&N to save $.Last time it went a whole year, REALLY cruddy & hard to clean.I can just

just change the sock once between full cleanings. I can still go a year without cleaning but I'll have cleaner filter media the whole time if I re-sock at 6 months plus an easier cleaning.

Default Make sure not to oversoaked the filter with oil.............

Always like to show this pic....My K&N filter after 20K miles all black & sooty...pile of Cr*p next to it was lodged to the filter..when I rinsed in down with water, more Sh*t came out...
Now this is because I was driving my car without the small screen filter in the Air vent tube.

After rinsing the dirt of the filter,I actually dabbed and wrapped mine with paper towel overnight after oiling ,,,,It helps take out excess oil and let the filter air out before putting back the K&N filter panel in the Airbox...that way you have lesspossibility of MAF damage due to excess oil sucking in.
