Im in the process of cleaning my K&N air filter. Do I have to oil both sides of the filter?

just change the sock once between full cleanings. I can still go a year without cleaning but I'll have cleaner filter media the whole time if I re-sock at 6 months plus an easier cleaning.

Now this is because I was driving my car without the small screen filter in the Air vent tube.
After rinsing the dirt of the filter,I actually dabbed and wrapped mine with paper towel overnight after oiling ,,,,It helps take out excess oil and let the filter air out before putting back the K&N filter panel in the Airbox...that way you have lesspossibility of MAF damage due to excess oil sucking in.
