I'm selling my rep RS4's for Ronal R-38's with polished lip, 18's. Right choice?

I don't know about the R-38's, as far as weight goes. I had 17in R-28's on my B5 and they were pretty heavy, but strong. (Good winter wheel.) I have the BBS RX's in 18's on my B6 and weight / style wise I like them. If I could do it all over again I might go for the OZ Supers in a bright finish as 18's. Just my $0.02. Happy shopping...

I replaced my 18" RS4s with 19"x8" OZ Superleggera 3-piece wheels on mine, with 235/35 Toyo T1-S tires, and love the combo. The fit is perfect, and the 3-piece wheels allow you to replace the front polished hoop if you curb-ding 'em, saving you money in the long run. The wheels weigh 24.2 lbs each, which is about what the RS4s weigh, so no increased unsprung weight.
If I had it to do over, I would probably go with BBS RS-GT 2-piece wheels, which weigh 21.4 lbs, reducing your unsprung weight, benefitting your acceleration, braking, and mileage. I had BBS RKs and loved them. They were the truest wheels I have ever had, and I know the RS-GTs are also great.

a "busy" look, just too much going on. I like the line of the R-38, with the audi caps, they can pass of as OEM, I like the OEM look, I even like my unpainted lowers =).

It's a funny thing . . . I look at pics of my A4 with the 18" RS4s and then with the 19" OZs, and the RS4s actually look bigger (about an inch bigger), which is an optical illusion, I suppose created by the polished hoops and the grey disks. Anyway, I think the RS4 rims are some of the prettiest on the market--really bold with a very highly polished finish, unmatched by any others. I believe it is a Ronal wheel, right? My only complaint, and everyone else's, too, as stated in the AW forum, is that they ding so easily, and it's hard to match the paint, if you want to touch up the wheels yourself. Go for it with the R38s. You might consider 19s, since your tires are 40 series anyway, because the tires aren't that much more, and the look is spectacular.
