of the previous A4 body is considered a nicer looking design than the current 02 design? Has the new design grown on you guys enough that you consider the looks nicer than the previous?

My bro has a 01 A4 and when he saw mine in person for the first time he loved it. He was like, "Oh, that looks sweet."

Some people don't like the look of the new one, but I think it's definitely a natural progression. Look at the following progression of images...

Although I thought the old design of the A4 was nice....a conservative, somewhat subtle sporty look, it never jumped out at me. In fact...I never shopped for one. Then...back in October of 2000, over on vwvortex they had the introduction of the new A4. well...I saw the picture first before i saw what car it was and my jaw dropped to the ground. The front facia was absolutely awesome. A good balance of aggressiveness and sexy-ness. The wheels made it look even better. What the HELL was this!? I remember thinking...
A4!!!???? dude.....i gotta get that car!
and...the rest is history. Picked my A4...same color as the pictures, same wheels, ....last week!

The looks never had a chance to grow on me. It stuck like static cling the moment I saw it. The looks of the older gen is nice....but it would have had to grow on me.

The interior is absolutely gorgeous too. Some say the taillights look too much like the A6's. Well, hey...they took a good thing and made it better! How do you know that the tailights on the A6's weren't a test bed or a stepping stone for the cooler looking lights on the A4! Besides...the A4 has integrated reverse lights on them. Something the A6 had to just slap near the license plates. And the reverse lights are vertical ...well rectangular...but kinda stood up. Very nice touch.

I can keep going and goin on how cool this car looks. In fact....hmm.....I gotta think about this one a little more....but it may...may be even cooler looking than the 3-series.

The ONLY thing I would have to say is....the damn non-painted lowers. A cost cutting move I bet, and also somethign I'm absolutely positive they'll start painting in the model years to come.
I'm seriously thinking about getting another A4 when that time comes.

Have had a nice silver one outside my window at work and when I get the chance I park my TT over by it and more and more I'm thinking I'm REALLY gonna like the next gen S4 Have to admit that the pics just don't to the A4 justice. Go take a walk around one and it is great. Particularly like the way the lines come together on the side by the tail light, 3 very simple lines at one point, very nice
