Default imperial to metric

Just bought an 03 from US (I live in Canada). It didn't have an owners manual. Can I change the units in the dash (temp, trip..) to metric instead of imperial?

Your dealer (or someone with a VAG-COM) can code your cluster to Canadian specs which will change the units to metric.

Thanks, I'll have to read up a bit to find out what a VAG-COM and cluster is. This is my first post and first Audi.

Default welcome to the club, friend. Buddy of mine bought a US spec car and he lives in Ontario

Dealer hooked up the VAG-COM and reset everything to metric. I think they charge like $75 CDN.

GROSS. I really hope they NEVER make the POS. And brown is the worst color on cars next to gold.

Default VAG-COM connects to the car for diagnostics, etc. It's how you can change settings

on your vehicle via the ECU. You can find their forum in this link for detailed stuff (and more applicable if you actually own one or have access to one besides your dealer).

Cluster is the intstrument cluster where the gauges are - speedo, tach, heat, fuel, etc. As Meskeetdog mentioned, Avanteix (or recently he goes by 'The Galouis') moved from Canada to the states recently and is custom-making a cluster to show mph on the speedo. Problem was the CDN spec speedo only has KPH. The US one has both KPH and MPH, so you should be fine there.

But the VAG-COM can help you change stuff like your outside air temperature from F to C and turn your fogs on for daytime running lights, etc (if you wanted to).
