Important Q about Neuspeed chip: are they specific to your VIN?

Default Important Q about Neuspeed chip: are they specific to your VIN?
The dealer has a Neuspeed ECU that they want to give me for my '03, but they are not sure if Neuspeed chips are specific to each VIN number or not. Anyone have any info on this?

They are specific to the box itself. Just match it to the ecu p/n.
