Default Increase in HP for -03's; Is this true?

I have had my A4 for a month now, And I am a very happy with it. However when I took it in to the dealer for a minor problem, they gave me a Jetta 1.8t as a loaner. I was shocked to see a car with the same engine be listed with 10 more horsepower than my beloved A4. Anyone know why they would do that? I also heard becasue of numerous complaints like mine, Audi might increase the HP for next year. Has anyone else heard anything?

The Jetta is a different animal, with a more efficient exhaust set-up

Default No, the exhaust set up is because the engine sits sideways.

You could do other exhaust mods. Previous generation A4's have had some success with new down pipes and bigger exhaust tubing. I'm not sure what is available for the 2k2 A4 yet.

Quick question: Shouldn't we be able to get more gains than B5's cuz we have two separate downpipes?

Shorter and more direct exhaust in the Jetta. Less kick-up ( restriction ) over rear axle.

Default Unless I'm confused, the downpipe runs from the exhaust manifold to the turbo...

so there really could only be 1, unless there's some funky plumbing in the '02!

Nope, I'm confused... What I meant was that we had a dual 2.5" system, not two downpipes. Ooops.
