Can anyone here share their experiences and reccomendations for infant car seats for the S4 (I have '05 S4 Cab, little less space but still close). I tried a couple in the back at the store and found that the Snugfit made the front passenger seat sit way too forward. Found that the Combi Connection had the best fit, among our favorites, in terms of leaving space for front passenger, but have seen some safety issues about it. Also will be looking into Britax Companion. I need to find a good one that will also not make it necessary to push up the front passenger seat too far forward. Please share.
So what have you found to be good product but take up little rear-to-front space?
Thanks much!

pushed too far back. Anyone over 5'9" has to sit a little forward, but anyone under 5'6" seems to have no problem. I know the Cab has a lot less space in the rear so I'm not sure if you're going to find anything that will work. Maybe if it's skinny enough it will fit in the middle of the rear seat and not hit the front passenger seats? Have you tried askin in the Cab forum?

I had to make some adjustments in my A4 while it was rear facing, but not too much. I found that if I adjusted the front seat to sit more upright, I could keep the seat where it was to allow leg room to be unaffected.
The buckle on the Alpha Omega was good too. Not to difficult for us to open/close, but complex enough for mechanically inclined 2 or 3 year olds to fail all attempts (so far).
My seats (one per car) were purchased in 2003 and 2004, so they might have changed this year, but for two years they were the same.

It goes from rear-facing to front facing... goes upto 40lbs I think, so you'll get your money's worth.
However, the reason we have a minivan now is that baby car seats are HUGE. Our A4 Avant just really wouldn't work with two baby seats. There's almost no way you'll avoid having to move the front seat forward to get the kids in.
Ironically, the bigger your kids get, the less room they need in the car. Go figure.

We almost bought one, but we were replacing another brand that we didn't like, and knew that our boy would be out of it in a year, so we bought another Alpha.
