Not sure if any of the A4s experience the same issue, so please ignore if this does not apply:
Ok, it seems that there's a post about every week about the fading LCD screen in the instrument cluster on our A6s (and other models) no matter what year and engine. Even if yours hasn't started to fade, there's a good chance it will start to.
I sent a message into Audi of America yesterday and a nice lady named Delores called me back today. Apparently, they do not see this as a widespread enough of an issue to do anything about it. However, they were going to log me into their database, and that if they receive enough messages regarding the issue, there is a better chance of a recall or some type of assistance. Who knows if we're enough to make a difference. But, for 5 minutes of your time you can send a message regarding this issue to AoA. I am going to cross post this into other discussions that make sense. Spread the word to other Audi forums, local Audi groups, friends, whoever will listen to you. We shouldn't have to shell out $1k to get this fixed due to bad manufacturing and engineering. Let's take a stand!!!

http://www.audiusa.com/audi/us/en2/forms/customer_relations.htx</a

a/c for a few minutes it comes back like it should. Its just the top where the radio displays, it almost flickers or strobes. My biggest concern is since so much info is displayed there when something goes wrong, if my screen goes out, whats to tell me that sludge has taken over again and not to drive anywhere. But thats my safety concern with it.
