Searched but have found nothing that talks about heat affecting iPod's in the car. I'm in Phoenix and summer is fast approaching, and was planning for an iPod install, but began to think about how the heat will affect it. Is it safe to leave it in my glovebox when I leave the car in a parking lot for say an hour or so? Or do I have to take it inside with me everywhere I go? Any help is appreciated!

I am from AZ, but going to law school out in CA. I was home last summer and didn't have any problems with my Ipod so long as I put it in the under the seat when I parked. Hope that helps.

It will reduce the battery life(longevity) of the iPod, which some say under ideal conditions is only about 2 years.

How difficult is the ipod install? For somebody who is a klutz with tools and hardware and what not, should I trust myself to do it or see if I can have it done for me so I dont **** up my car?

The actual install was a snap, the tools were another issue. Many on this board have made their own stereo removal tools, so I figured I would try too. Big mistake! Buy the tools from the dealership or online and it will make your life easier. You just have to work the tools so that they lock into the head unit and then pull really hard to get it out. The wiring was simple with the blitzsafe adapter. All you have to do is disconnect the radio, plug in the adapter, then plug the wires back into the adapter.
