I've got a few SB clutch questions about the OFE series.

Mainly due to the 'organic' side of the clutch disk. The OFE SS has a much higher clamp pressure plate, and clutch disk with both sides are composite.

FWIW, my shop told me that its best to get a new flywheel as the resurfacing process takes material off the FW and could cause it to fail. I know this goes against the popular opinion here, but I figured I would mention it. BTW this was in reference to my car (with 45k on the stock clutch and FW), so at 100k, I might just buy a new DMFW and resurface/sell your current one, just for peace of mind

the time comes. He's got 55k on the OE flywheel. I will probably end up selling mine to someone who may need it.

I have a SB OFE SS with about 45 K on the clock on a K0'ed B6. I'm probably going to have to replace the clutch in the next year or so because it's sticking in 2nd. Anyhow, I'd prefer a clutch that is not as hard to disengage/push to the floor and was thinking about the OFE HD instead. Not looking to go BT ever, just my K04. Thanks for the advise and sorry for the threadjack.

does accumulate wear in the dampening elements between the two flywheel masses, over time. Resurfacing the flywheel friction face does not address this wear, that will eventually impair the efficient and smooth function of the clutch.
A fresh DMF, with tight damping elements inside, provides freedom from gear rattle noise and provides smoother clutch engagement, much more refined and preferred for a daily driver.
I've seen DMFs for less than $500 new, eBay would be a likely source.

What about a OE flywheel with only 55k miles on it and getting that resurfaced?
I know resurfacing here with low mileage OE flywheels is pretty popular and haven't heard anything gone wrong yet.
