I've had the car for 4 months now, bought it used, and have never waxed it...I figure it's probably a good time to do it.
What product do you guys suggest and what is the best way to apply and wax the car? I need something that I can pick up at Autozone or similar, or maybe I'll take a trip down to the Audi dealership and get something from the parts dept.
Help me out...it's a beautiful day outside!

The best system is definately Zaino, but you can't get it at atozone etc. you gotta order it.
A good store should have a full lineup of Zymol products. Also my dealer carries the entire lineup. You might want to stop by yours and see if they have it. Since you have never waxed it I'd go with the wash followed by the cleaner wax. Next time go with regular wax.Make sure you do all that in the shade. Only use wax applicator pads or 100% cotton towles and avoid cirular motions to avoid swirl marks.
You might also want to check out Zymol's website to make sure you choose the right wax for your color. Have fun

Go pick up a Meguiars 3 step system, it will take you a while but works really well. There are other more expensive wax's (ie zymol) but I don't know that they work any better. Stay away from an orbital buffer unless you are experienced in using it, thats a fast way to F--- your paint. And of course you can always check out Meguiars website for FAQ's and instructions, they even have a forum....Speaking of forums AW has a detailing forum.

Meguiars how to page ***click here***

I know you said you wanted something from Auto Zone, but this stuff by far has one of the nicest most worth the money products out there. If you follow the instructions your car will turn out looking like it just came off the paint booth or dip, it looks that good and wet and deep! I did my car and then did my girl's car a 97 Honda Del Sol that has been severely neglected over the years and both of the cars turned out looking unreal. I highly recomend this product and can't begin to tell you the looks you will get when driving around. If you go on the web and do a search of the product it will turn up testimonial after testimonial on how good it is and how long it lasts.

http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc</a
