jaguar versus 04 S4

i was driving my father's 99 jaguar xj8 Vanden Plas Super 8 back from Ny yesterday and this guy in a barnd new Nogaro blue s4 flew by me. he cut me off and slowed and then merged back to get beside me. i looked at him and gave me a thumbs up, b/c i too have an audi at home, but he preceded to mouth to "slow a$$ jag". i was kind of surprised but amused b/c this guy had no idea what he was getting into. i dropped the j-shift into third and gave him the 3rd gear sign. the road was open and we both punched it. the s4 barreled off immediately ahead of me. he was about 3 or 4 cars ahead until the supercharged 8 cylinder showed its bark. i began closing in and switched to fourth. i was walking right by him until i switched to 5th and blasted by him. i took the jag to its limited speed of 1** and could see nothing but audi xenons behind. however, he wasnt too far away and kept fairly close for most of the way. i know the race was wrong but i had to...all i can say is that the s4 is a vciously quick car, alot more powerful then i ever expected. but u cant mess with a supercharged jagaur regardless of weight. he defintiely would have smoked me off the line tho..haha! hoped u enjoyed my story.

so you think the 99 jag is more aerodynamic than an S4? And it's 18HP advantage, automatic trans is going to carry it's 650 lbs faster? Come on. The jag is a nice car, but it isn't a match for an S4. Just like it isn't a match for a vette, M3, C36, etc..

I didnt say that the jag would beat an S4, i was simply stating that at high speed, if a car is overweight, it isn't as big of a deal as it is off the line.
