XJ8 isn't that fast..........................
"Jaguar says the XJ8 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, an impressive feat given its size and weight. (The 370-horsepower XJR can do it in a mere 5.4 seconds.)"<ul><li><a href="http://www.nctd.com/review-intro.cfm?ReviewID=516">http://www.nctd.com/review-intro.cfm?ReviewID=516</a></li></ul>

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I just assumed he meant XJR...
I think he was mixing and matching a few names. I doubt anyone would claim that the N/A versions could stand a chance.

Yes, but didn't Audi also claim 5.4 0-60 for the S4?
I don't put much stock in manufacturers claims. However, in this case, you're talking about a SC V8 with a signifigant torque advantage, automatic (little driver error), and a curb weight only 200lbs heaver than the S4. The S4 is also down 30HP on the XJ and doesn't have the extra drivetrain losses of quattro. Besides, it sounds like the S4 driver deserved it, and relying on his "fast car" didn't take into account that the driver actually has something to do with it.
