Default Just fixed an annoying steering wheel squeak

Anyone else have this? A delicate plastic-y creak at all RPMs directly from inside the wheel. At first I thought it was from the tilt lock mechanism, but good lubrication there didnt help.

Took out two really difficult-to-access Torx screws which allows the top plastic cover to come free (still attached to instrumant cluster by that leather dust fabric) The screws are vertical and accessed from below.

Size of the torx driver is 9. Finally found the right size and length driver at Sears. Actually I had to modify the tool a bit because it was too thick at the base and the driver needs to go in a few inches to reach the screw.

Anyway, I sprayed air in there and tried to locate the sound. There was some squeaking of the clear plastic ring at the base. Got some WD40 in there and now it's quiet. Finally!
