Default Just got APR Chip

Gents,

Just got APR Stage 1 chip in my 05 1.8t and there are few interesting things that I noticed. Can anyone comment on them?

1. Trip computer MPG seems to be way too optimistic.

2. In 4th, 5th, and 6th gears accelerating hard from
2500RPM and up, there is a strong low frequency
vibration that can be felt as 3000RPMs are approached.
It almost feels like strong base from sound system.
(music was off when this noticed) This vibration is
felt strongest in 6th gear, and I do not know if it
stops after 3500, because I have not pushed it yet.

3. Overall performance increase seems VERY impressive!
Power is excellent until 5k RPM and it seems to drop
off after that.

4. overall driveability is excellent. Car feels
totally natural.

5 Can AUDI dealer can re-flash my ECU back to original factory? Installer told me that they had few customers that had to reload APR software because dealer uploaded stock program, but APR says that this is impossible. Which is true??
I would prefer dealer being able to flash my ECU, in this case the upgrade is completely stealth.

6. there is talk on the audiworld.com forums that Audi now uses counter to track hom may times ECU has been flashed. GIAC and REVO both claim not to reset the counter, but APR says that this is not true, there is no counter . Which is true?

Overall, I like the chip a lot, I used to have GIAC on my 99 A4, but APR dealer is a lot closer to my house then GIAC.

Let me know if you want more details, I can also put the car on the dyno, if someone know who has 4 wheel dyno on north NJ area.

Default we also have revo here...

I also have revo dealer around here. But I am supporting APR in all that court stuff... Revo will not get my business.

the question is, is it actually better? or just shows it's better.

Default thats what im trying to figure out, conventional wisdom would say its not better b/c of more fuel

added, but maybe its just being used more efficiently...im keeping an eye on it

Default If you swapped out the injectors than that is likely the cluprit. My car will show 500+ miles...

to empty. There is a recalibration through vag-com but I have never done it. cheers! Mike
