OK, first of all, DONT belive them if they say the water in the hotel and throughout the resort is really filtered.

Second, why dont we get cool Audi commercials like "The Fan" here in the U.S.?

After spending nearly the whole day on the crapper and lying on the king size bed thinking how much fun all my friends and co-workers are having down at the pool I saw one of the best Audi commercials ever. "The fan" as it's apparantly known.

If you have never seen it it goes something like this.

Guy who looks like Elvis is driving along the desert in a old beat up car. There is this little "wobble" dancing hula doll stuck on top of the dash board and every time he shifts gears the doll dances to the music. Pretty funny but Im still not sure what the hell this commercial is for.

Next thing you see is the Elvis guy standing on the side of the road beacuse his car finally blew the tranny. Then you see a silver A4 with this really beuatiful dark haired (latin?) woman driving, pull over to the side of the road to pick him up.

As they are driving along he manages to put his Elvis music on and then he sneaks his "wobble" doll and slaps it on the dash board.

Only the doll is not dancing.

Then you see a shot of the multi-tronic shifter and they both give each other a look.

There was some phrase about the multi-tronic but it was in spanish.

I thought it was pretty funny and maybe some have seen it before but since I dont watch much TV it was new for me. On the plane home tonight I was reading my Audi magazine and came across an article about Audi advertisements and the ones that have won awards. Apparantly this commercial was called "The Fan" and has had a sort of cult following in Spain and other countries. Supposedely there is even a "original Audi accessory wobble doll".

Sorry for the long post but I need to make up for the week I was gone

So, what I miss anyway?

This reminds me of the old (1970's) Lincoln commercials with people pouring wine while riding in the car to illustrate it's smooth ride.

Saturday night live parodied the commercial, showing a Rabbi performing a circumcision in the car. Unfortunately, as I recall, the circumcision didn't go so well. LOL
