Just installed NGK BKR6E's, first impressions
Ok after reading all the hype, pro's and con's with these copper plugs I decided to give it a shot. I mean what the hell? It took me 15min I can always switch back.
First off, if you are against this change for any reason, please, please! pull your stock plugs and check the gap. My stock plugs were ALL gapped at .025 way off the reccomended .032.
When I first started the car, first thought was wow, the "shake" of the engine was gone. I revv'ed it a little bit to about 3000rpm and down, a marked improvement in the "smoothness" of the motor along its RPM band.
Then I took it for a quick spin around the block, basicly just a marked improvement in overall smoothness of the power delivery. Any HP gains? very douptful. For 1.27 a plug best results per dollar I have ever spent though.
I know these need to be changed ~5k, but hell I change my oil then anyway, what is 15min more of work?
I will let you know later once I get on a Hwy if there are any more changes.
At the very least I reccomend everyone pull their plugs and check the gap, but I give these plugs a thumbs up so far.
On a side note, I have all "J" coil packs from when mine blew and were replaced 3 odd years ago. Are these packs ok? or should I look into a later revision?

I just ordererd 4 "R" coil packs to go along with my Bosch F5PDOR plugs, I also use the BKR6E's but
I'm trying the platinum plugs to see how they work with my FX upgrade. But yes the 6's kick ***. I also heard that the plug gap needs to be closed to .028 if chipped but .032 for stock.
