Just pulled the trigger on a green filter....

I decided to order this filter just to see if what they claim is true. There are several claims I would like to investigate.
1. They use a four stage process to connect the filter with the surrounding rubber framework resulting in no "spillover" that they clam can reduce the filter area by as much as 20% on KN and AFE style filters.
2. They use 2 layers of woven cotten instead of the gauze layers of cotton used by KN. I have witnessed the little holes you can see in the KN guaze style cotton and the fact that it degrades over time and the little pieces of cotton are swept into the intake. This is remedied by the green filters's woven design.
3. Green claims the woven cotton design holds the oil in and the KN sponge like gauze material allows it to be released.
4. The green filter uses width wise pleats that allow more surface area than other filters allowing more air to pass through it.
5. The green filter comes with little fitment tabs that allow it to stay formed to your airbox and never cave in, even if the airbox becomes slightly warped over time.
We'll see if it's all it is cracked up to be. The filter should be here by late next week. Cheers! Mike

of isolating the warm air. If you look at the AFE here, you can see the rubber spillover onto the filter surface that green seems to talk about. It does indeed look like it would restrict flow. We'll see if that is the case.

when evaluating filters. ( I realize that you are refering to the 2-dimensonal opening for air).
For example say filter 1 has 100 pleats 2 inches deep, versus filter 2 with 100 pleats 1 inch deep; filter 1 actually has twice the "filter" surface area.
The Green looks like a good design though. Good luck....
and how much was it?
