Default Just scheduled 10k service. I have to pay but...

if I bring in my own oil how much should I expect to pay for the service? The service manager said that my 15k service is paid for and I have to pay for a 10k service if I want it. Is it still worth getting a 10k service? I brought in my own Mobile one 5-30 synthetic oil for the 5k service.

Default are you just going to do an oil change and nothing else?

Why don't you just do the oil change anywhere if that is the case? It would much cheaper than taking it to the dealer for an oil change. Or even better, learn to do it yourself.

Default Correct. They have to look at a recent *rim rash* and give recommendation too.

Plus I need them to look at why my light level sensor goes on periodically.

Default Use a good oil and you can stick to the 10K OCI service schedule..

I'm not sure how goood the M1 5W-30 is though (Audi Junkie could help with this probably).

BTW; 5K OCI's are completely unnecessary if you use good synth oil intended for extended drains and one that carries manufacturers approvals like these;

<i>API SJ/CF
ACEA B4
VW 503.01</i>

Even the <i>"MB229.3"</i> is a good measurement of the oils quality.

Some oil choices:

Motul 8100 Ester E-Tech
Castrol 0W-30 "German Made"
M1 0W-40
Red Line 5W-40

And yes, your service is; 5K, 15K, 25,...

Where are some good places to pick up the oils you mentioned?

Default Depends on where you are located...

I'm in SoCal, so I know places here.

For the more exotic oils though, you'll have to check with performance parts shops (non auto parts chain stores). Also contact the oil manufacturer for nearest dealers - that's what I do.
