K04 set ups on the B6 A4 automatic/tiptronics.... how do they compare to a stock B5 S4 auto/tip

clunky, no power. I think it was just a bad one, ill retry later today
The car just felt junky. My guess is the previous owner didnt do a lot of maintenance. I'm willing to try again but the BMW wagon was very nice.

The A4 Tip, will not shift with the precise quality and shift timing that is flawless stock, ...
with a chip or with a K-04 upgrade. The chip tuners, don't adjust the coordination between the torque demand, actual engine torque, and transmission shift strategy, as a part of the chip tuning remapping for the ECU. The result is that the tip is no longer able to properly execute the best shift strategy. This can for the most part be eliminated by using the "sport" mode, instead of the "D", Dynamic Shift Program" mode. If the TIP manual mode, is used, the misbehavior prevalent in "D" mode, is obviously, not an issue.
