Keep the 3.0 Manual or get an '05 S4 automatic?

I never find a manual a PITA, and the heavier the traffic, the more blessing a manual is (once you've driven manuals long enough that shifting is second nature, not requiring conscious interaction.)

hoping it will be dead on Xmas Eve...and we'll see what kind of deal I can strike.
I did come from an '02 3.0 tip...so I am familiar with the transmission...I also should drive the auto S4.
And to answer the question...the reason they're willing to discount so much is because there are no manuals left...

those. they even rev match for you.
while i do truly enjoy my 6 speed, I'd take a tip S4 over it.

This is a very personal decision, I feel. You gotta see if the Tip is to your liking. Some folks feel yes; others no.
I've owned manual tranny cars for over 30 years. Have driven several automatics; never liked them (that includes a new Dodge Magnum R/T Hemi). However, am debating about getting a S4 for my next car, and was thinking about finally getting an automatic. Local dealer had a used S4 Tiptronic, so I decided to try it. Have to admit, the manual shifting mode with the paddle shifters was an absolute blast. I have never driven an automatic that will handle a downshift as if it was a hell-and-toe downshift in a maanula tranny by blipping up the engine RPM during the downshift. So will likely go with the Tiptronic on my next car.
