Is there anyway to get a key fob (switchblade key) without going to the dealer? I have made a few phone calls and I can get a sidewinder key cut. But no fob or no fob programming. Dealer is outrageously expensive and wonder if I can find a blank key fob and program it with.obdeleven and just get the key cut at my local shop?

2. Buy working FOB (make sure the frequency/electronics is the same)
3. Match the FOB with VAGCom so you can lock/unlock/open trunk.
4-1a. Buy Virgin Immobilizer
4-1b. Find the SKC with VAG Tacho
4-1c. Match Immobilizer to Dash
or
4-2a. Buy Virgin Immobilizer
4-2b. Buy ID48 Megamos Clone Tools // or ask your local locksmith to clone
-or-
4-3a. Go to dealer parking lot
4-3b. VERY carefully remove the old immobilizer
4-3c1. If you succeed without breaking the immo (higher success rate if you steam the residue first and pick it slowly) -> TAPE the immobilizer near the keyslot
4-3c2. If the immo breaks, etc -> Cry a bit (it's ok sometimes when dealing with DIY hobbies) -> Tell the dealer you need some duplicate keys (At least the car is already on their parking lot)
5. Share you success stories / tips to the forum.
Good Luck! =)
