Kind of a strange question: B6 A4 Avant vs. B5 S4 Sedan: Backseat comparison???
My wife wants a B6 A4 Avant but she has some concerns about the size of the backseat. We have three kids who do not fit very well in the backseat of my S4. How much (if any) bigger is the B6 Avant's backseat?

I wouldn't want to have three kids in the back of a B6 Avant. We have two kids and it's a pain. If all three are in carseats, forget it.
If she is worried about space, you need something bigger (Volvo V70, Passat wagon, A6 Avant, BMW 5 Touring, etc.). A4s just aren't that big to begin with.

Slightly better feet space...
I have owned five B5 cars (A4/S4/S4 Avant) and I now own a B6 A4 sedan..there is slightly more room in the B6 rear seat footroom...they will feel better.

3 Kids = Q7 or A8/A6...I'd sell my B6 if I had 3 kids to haul around.....
it's bad enough having one kid in a rear facing convertible seat in the rear. She becomes forward facing next month, but I'm not looking forward to her kicking the back seat since there will be no leg room for her.
