Default Lately I've been getting a very slight hesitation with my car. Its very slight, the wife doesn't

even notice it, but I do. When I accelarate from a stop, I feel this between maybe 1800 and 2200 rpm's. Any idea what this could be??

Default Ok sorry for being vague. I have a 2002 1.8T CVT.

As far as temp, it has gotten colder since it is winter. I can't remember if this was going on when it was warmer, I don't think it was. Everything else appears to be normal. I have a coolant leak right now that I have to get repaired. Everything else on the car is perfect and working normally.

Before I moved, put Shell Vpower in the car every time I filled up. Shell in my new neighborhood is too expensive so I switched to BP. I also used to get my oil changed with mobile 0w-40. The last 2 changes I've used 5w-30.

Default shouldnt be a hesitation thing from the oil or gas....

im thinking something in the CVT trnny perhaps...i dont know too much about those...possibly a boost leak somewhere...i owuld look to the vac line from the front of the intake manifold...those go bad all the time (its a small, cloth covered line)...they can cause all kinds of little things...look there and check back!

Default =(

I don't know my way around the engine too well. I just know basic stuff. That is outside of my scope. Can you explain where exactly this is located?

Does the hesitation you notice exist when using manual tip mode?

Default You know, I never thought to check that. And the last time I used manual mode I didn't pay

attention. I'll try it and report back.

Default as you face the engine from the front of the car...

hood open,,,you wll see the intake manifold..its the metal thing to the right of the engine cover...with 4 little tubes going into the motor and a big hone connected on the right.

near the front of the manifold, you will see a small black hose that looks as if it is going down further under the engine (and by small i mean 1/4in in diameter). it will, on yuor model year, be covered in braided cloth. you may find that this hose, as it goes over the manifold nipple, is torn or split. ist a very common problem and can affect the function of your motor. if that is the case, have it replaced. not a big deal! hope that helps!

Default Ok I had a chance to check in manual. First let me say this.

I put some fuel injector cleaner in and put some shell Vpower in the tank. The hesitation doesn't seem as bad as it was, but it's still there. I tried it in manual mode and yes I can still feel the hesitation.
