Default Left my car in the sun almost all day and it was HOT...my radar detector fried?!

anyone have this happen befor? it was going crazy...i thought this would be a dumb idea but i put it in the freezer for like 15min and then it worked fine...

Default sounds like it worked, but I personally would not have put it in the freezer.

the temp change could have been too fast and cracked vital parts. lucky you!

Default Yeah, most electronics have a minimum and a maximum working temperature. I bet you it was above ...

120 F in your car.

Default You've completed one thermal shock cycle. 999 more and

you've completed the automotive requirements for passenger compartment components (almost). ;-)

Actually, hitting electronics with a cold cycle is a good way to discover any poor solder joints. If you get good operation after bringing it back to normal temps, you're probably just fine.
