A lengthy post from the Acura TL forum

A portion of that "extra" cost stays in the car residual. Some goes for "free" service. Lasts longer
too and is safer. a couple of Gs less /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/WHATEVER/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/?

As one of the A6 guys has stated, German cars need more maintainence but feel new longer. Japanese
cars rarely fail, but lose the new car feel quite quickly. So if you trade often, the Acura may be just fine. If you keep it more than a few years, the German car will feel better.
Take an 80K A6 and 80K GS300. Everything works fine in each car, but the Lexus leather is peeling colour, and all the buttons wobble in their sockets. The A6 leather will be shiny with wear and the seats may squeak a tad, but the controls should all still feel tight.

Good post - the point being that you need to drive 'em all ...
... then make a decision based on your requirements and desires in an auto. For me, there was no question as to which scoot works best - of course, it's the A4.
